For now, gamers have plenty of new content to explore and missions to complete with the new casino expansion.

But over the coming weeks, new cars, items and modes are also expected to be released as part of a content drip-feed.

And one of these new items made their debut this week, which looks set to be followed by a lot more stuff.

The new vysser neo supercar is now available to buy for $1,875,000 in-game and comes with plenty of other bonuses.

Right now, casino story missions are paying out double rewards, another excellent reward for players with access.

Other new benefits have also been released for GTA online gamers who have an active twitch prime account.

No release date has been set by the studio, who have only shared the news that they will be opening the doors to a luxury casino in the heart of vinewood.

No further information has been shared on what this will allow fans to do or what new content to expect.

Will fans be able to purchase a stake in the casino and use it to generate more in-game cash?

Can we expect a surprise GTA online heist to launch with the new area, which will allow gamers to play blackjack and the like?

And as fans will now know, it’s going to do more than just open the doors to a building that has been closed since servers went live.

The release date news we received this week probably wasn’t the kind fans were hoping for, but it does provide a little more information on when the big update could be launched.

It appears that we can scrap the idea that the new GTA online casino will open in june.

From the language used by rockstar in a recent post, it sounds like the new content won’t be dropping this month.

In fact, the wording is so vague it’s hard to determine if it will arrive during july 2019.

Hard to think that ever since 2013 when GTA first released the casino in vinewood had a sign in front that said "opening soon". That was up until jun 20th, 2019 when rockstar teased a big new expansion to the game in the form of the diamond casino & resort.

Supposedly this new location will feature “lavish amenities, exclusive shopping, first-class entertainment and state-of-the-art gaming facilities”.

Unfortunately, information about the casino has all but dried up since rockstar made that official statement on the rockstar newswire. Leading to lots of speculation on he part of fans of the game, youtubers, rockstar leakers and even sites like daily star - but there's been very little in the way of concrete answers

Even as we speak, a release date for the GTA 5 online casino update has not been confirmed yet, with rockstar sticking to their "later this summer" tease.

However, it's possible an update on the state of the casino could be arriving this week, at least if we were to go off information released by one of the games most prominent leakers.

As such, it's possible that this week will see the release of more details for the new GTA online casino update, and that info could be coming tomorrow.

The past GTA casino teasers from rockstar have all dropped on a thursday. First in the form of a teaser image on twitter and then with a blog post from the developers.

Thursday is also typically when rockstar updates the game and the weekly events it holds.

We're not suggesting the casino update will drop tomorrow (that's pretty much impossible) but we could see more information on behalf of rockstar.

Couple this knowledge of the game with a new piece of information from rockstar games insider @tezfunz2 and it paints a picture that suggests we could see more info dropping in the next 24 hours.

Last night, writing on twitter, @tezfunz2 said: "rockstar will reveal new details about #rdonline next major update in the coming weeks, this would raise the possibility of us getting #gtaonline casino update this month."

Now, with it already being the 17th of july, that only leaves another 14 days before the month is out.

The other key thing to note, is how long it takes rockstar games to get this new content signed off and released by the PS4/xbox platform holders at sony and microsoft.

This is something @tezfunz2 has already communicated to fans previously.

Writing on the GTA forums tezfunz2 explained how long it typically takes rockstar games between the release date reveal, to actually releasing an update.

He pointed out that the approval process is normally 3-5 days to release a new update with sony and microsoft, but that rockstar "extend it to 2 weeks for their own quality assurance process."

Given his track record and proven knowledge of how rockstar operates, we're inclined to agree with tezfunz2's logic.

Realistically then, if it takes two weeks from reveal to going live, and tezfunz2 also believes its going live in july, it seems only logical that rockstar would announce more information and potentially a release date, tomorrow.

Then the developer would have at least 14 days to drop the new update.

Our best guess, a potential announcment coming tomorrow followed by a release on the 1st august.

But like all things right now, best take it with a pinch of salt.

It goes without saying that the casino update will introduce a whole boatload of new content to the game. Cars, new ways to make money and all sorts. There is one theory however that we're pinning a lot of hopes on.

Whilst still speculation, one of the more interesting theories we've seen when it comes to new content for the GTA online casino update relates to horse racing and the big track sitting behind the casino itself.

Prominent GTA and red dead redemption 2 content creator, mrbossftw, has done a lot of digging and has put forward the case.

Mrbossftw suggests the game could look to include horses as a new type of rideable vehicle. They've previously been found in the game's files from as far back as the original release but never actually used (remarkable, right?).

Furthermore, the youtuber goes on to suggest that the game could potentially implement a live horse racing circuit using the track out the back.

This could be used to both race and spectate from the grandstand like the spectating booth in arena war.

Given their talents on red dead redemption 2 and the space out the back, it all sort of makes sense.

Original story - the next GTA online update is getting close and will focus on the long-awaited opening of grand theft auto 5's casino that has remained desolate since the game first released 6 years ago.

For anyone who doesn't know the casino has displayed an 'opening soon' banner outside ever since the game launched, but last week that all changed.

"there were rumors that GTAO next update will feature the casino, I can confirm it," tweeted out infamous GTA dataminer tezfunz2.

And then by magic a few days later rockstar confirmed as much in a tweet sent from the official rockstar twitter account, which told fans:

"opening soon: A luxury casino in the heart of vinewood. "

Obviously, we still don't know the full details surrounding this next update. There's no set release date yet and beyond the main image which rockstar tweeted, there are zero official details shared just yet.

But there is one interesting theory that we've stumbled upon which makes a lot of sense.

Prominent GTA and red dead redemption 2 content creator, mrbossftw, has done a lot of digging and has put forward the case for one prominent piece of content that could be coming.

What is that super secret content they might include? Horses! Yes, those four-legged hay munching animals, which, remarkably still don't exist in the game.

Yes, that's right, somehow in five-plus years, the game still doesn't include any sort of horse-related vehicles or animals. Which seems odd given the previous release of red dead redemption. You'd think that would be quite easy to include.

Mrbossftw suggests the game could look to include these animals for a myriad of reasons. We'd suggest taking a look at his video above, but given the game already includes a lot of content in the game files, it makes sense.

There is however another pretty substantial reason for this particular connection and its to do with what is behind the casino.

A ruddy great big horse racing track!

Mrbossftw goes on to suggest that the game could potentially implement a live horse racing circuit. Both to race yourselves but also to spectate.

The content creator points out that the grandstand looks a lot like that used in the arena war update, which allowed users to spectate matches from above.

Could it be that we would be able to spectate horse races and bet on the outcome? That's one suggestion put forward by the content creator.

Again it would make sense since the assets exist, the in-game implementation exists and also because the studio clearly has a lot more experience with horse based gameplay following the hugely successful launch of red dead redemption 2.

Will the casino update be focussed solely on horse racing? We can't imagine so, no. But this certainly feels like one of those situations when the puzzles fit so neatly together that we can't imagine it not being a prominent feature of the games next big DLC expansion.

The problem is we can’t predict exactly when this new content will go live in the game.

Grand theft auto gamers should see both new vehicles and game modes released over the coming weeks.

This all checks out with how rockstar has handled launches in the past, but there’s always the chance that the dev team have had to change their plans.

But even if we don’t hear more about the new expansion this week, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be waiting long for new information.

And details still remain murky at best when it comes to what exactly will be included.

Rockstar has confirmed that gamers will be able to visit the new casino location and play various table games, as well as visit new shops.

But we still don’t know about all the other stuff that could be released alongside it.

New elite vehicles seem a given, but it’s hard to say in which direction rockstar will take their latest content.
